Today’s service at Macedonia Baptist Church in Cary, NC was bittersweet as I said farewell to my away from home faith family.

For the past five months, I’ve worshipped and served beside these lovely people who accepted me into their faith family without question.

We broke bread together regularly. Wednesday night bible study is preceeded with a meal prepared by their amazing cooks. I felt as though anyone who finished the meals should receive a placque or t-shirt. Thankfully Pastor Jimmy Brown kept us awake with his messages after dinner, otherwise it would’ve been easy to doze off after such fabulous feasts.

My colleague and I were even invited to eat Thanksgiving dinner with our Sunday school teacher which we graciously accepted and ate like kings.

One of the members also took me to several hockey games to see their Carolina Hurricanes. You wouldn’t ever meet bigger fans, they love their Canes, and I too grew to enjoy the excitement of the game.

Visit there and you’ll learn one thing for sure, how much you can feel the love in that church, their members are intentional about their inquiries, not just words mentioned in passing, but genuine eye to eye contact, maybe even a longer grasp of the hand or arm, they’re always happy to see you and eager to hear how you’re doing.

Like many churches across the country, they’re looking for ways to connect with the next generation. I circle Macedonia Baptist Church and it’s members in prayer, I pray that God would do the impossible thru their church so that the people in the Cary community will know that only God’s hand could’ve made it possible so ultimatley God will receive all the Glory.

Til we meet again my brothers and sisters, thank you all for your gracious hospitality, if any of you are ever in the Mobile, AL area, please stop by Redemption Church and allow us to return the love.

In Christ name, God bless you all!
